Rain on Your Wedding Day

Lindsay and John’s wedding was a celebration filled with love, laughter and spring showers. They were prepared for anything the day may bring and they were going to embrace it. I asked Lindsay while she was getting ready how she felt about taking pictures in the rain. She did not hesitate to say yes. Wholeheartedly. She cared about her memories more than about the dress, the cold, the rain… anything. As long as she had her love by her side, that is all that mattered. I took that and ran away with it! Music to a photographer’s ears. We all had matching umbrellas for the bridal party and I brought my favorite vintage 1920’s umbrella for the bride and groom. Very useful accessories as the sun gave way to the clouds and rain just as we approached the lake¬†for our first picture location.

But first let’s start with one of my favorite parts of the day, Lindsay’s dress! The gorgeous Alyne design was purchased at A L’Amour in Barrignton.
The delicate ivory shoes are Badgley Mischka.
The guys are ready and heading out to church!
Now, you all know I have a soft spot for grandmas… And Lindsay’s grandma just stole my heart from the first moment I saw her. Needless to say, Lindsay, you have a whole lot of pictures of your beautiful grandmother to look forward to. ūüôā I couldn’t help myself. The camera just loved her!
Off to church we go, but not before a few pictures of the girls. Especially since it was still sunny and warm in suburbs.
The beautiful invitations, programs and place cards were designed by Lilly Red Studio.
Doesn’t it just melt your heart to see how Lindsay’s dad is looking at his daughter as he is preparing to give her away?
The weather in the suburbs was still nice, but as we approached the city it started raining. But we were ready! And having fun with it!
And then is stopped for a little while…
And started up again. ūüôā
We chased the rain onto the bridges!
Don’t you just love the timing of this yellow cab? With the yellow flowers and yellow pavement markings. The only thing that would have made it even better would have been an old yellow cab instead of the brand new model. ūüôā
Good bye rain! We are headed for a an amazing celebration at the Hard Rock Hotel!
Gorgeous flowers by one of my favorite florists in the city – Fleur de Lis.
Come on in! The party is about to begin.
And onto the best bouquet catch ever!
I warned you about grandma! She is a heartbreaker! ūüôā Lindsay and John, I hope you are enjoying this sneak peek! There is more amazingness where these images came from! Cannot wait to show you all the images from your wedding!
