The Wow Shot
A few weeks ago a client I met with at the studio asked me one of the best questions I have been asked in a meeting. And it got me thinking… that it needed to be more than just an answer for one client. It needed to be shared with everyone popping in for a visit. 🙂 Thank you for stopping by, we hope you love what you see and give us a chance to show you more of our work and find out much more about your big day, with a meeting at our studio!
Back to the question. What was it? “What is the one thing that you always do at every wedding? Your signature?”
Well… apart from striving to tell your story as beautifully as it unfolded with candid, emotional images and gorgeous detail shots of all the hard work you put into the stunning decor and tasty food, we also always need to give you at least one WOW shot. And by that, I don’t mean that you will get just one truly beautiful shot. All your final images are carefully selected and edited, and they will all be beautiful in their own magical way. But a WOW shot (for us) is an image that is PURE ART.
I have a few examples for you from last year’s favorites. All from some of the best wedding picture locations in the city.
You might remember this breathtaking twilight shot from the terrace at Sixteen – Trump International Hotel and Tower.
Ah, just the two of them on La Salle Bridge… Another one of my favorite downtown picture locations.
One exception to all the beautiful Chicago locations is this rainy nighttime shot from Florida! Probably my favorite all time nighttime shot!
If you love pigeons, you will love this image taken in front of the 50 E Washington downtown building where the bride and groom once worked.
Another destination wedding image where the location really doesn’t play a role. But our gorgeous bride, Farrah, got married in Boston last April.
The fireworks at Navy Pier! A must have wedding shot if you are near by and can sneak out. But if not, you can always schedule a “day after” session and get the firework shot on your terms!
Yes, you are right… the location is irrelevant when you have a vintage Bentley to drive off into the sunset on your wedding day!
Fall in Chicago – no better location for gorgeous color and soft lighting than Grant Park!
And last, but not least! Olive Park! My favorite skyline views and usually not as crowded as The Planetarium.
